As a symbol for family unity, the Family Medallion is
the appropriate resource for celebrating a variety of family occasions.
Following is information on ceremony resources for commemorating two such events
– the adoption of a child and the birth/blessing/baptism of a child.
In the U.S., one of 40 children is adopted. Those who
choose to adopt a child are making a major commitment to establishing or
expanding their family. Such a commitment, both by the adopting parent(s) and
the birthmother and/or father, is worth of great celebration and acknowledgment.
Below is an outline of the Family Medallion
presentation ceremony for celebrating adoptions. A complete ceremony resource
booklet comes free with each Family Medallion order. Adoption certificates are
also available.
(This ceremony may be used either in the home or in a traditional religious setting. A complete ceremony comes with each Family Medallion order.)

The birth, blessing or baptism of child is a time for
great thanksgiving and for bringing family and friends together to celebrate the
gift that each child represents. It is also a time for acknowledging the
responsibility that all family members have for the nurturing and growth of
“God’s gift of new life.”
Such celebrations may range from a simple blessing
ceremony in the home to a more formal baptism or christening ceremony in a
church setting.
Family Medallion resources are available to assist with
this celebration. These include, in addition to the Family Medallion
presentation, blessing and baptismal certificates and ceremonies.
(This
blessing ceremony also includes baptismal resources for use in those religious
traditions that baptize children. A complete ceremony comes with each Family
Medallion order.)
