About Clergy Services
Roger Coleman, a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
minister in Kansas City, Missouri, founded Clergy Services
in 1980. From his experience with weddings, Dr. Coleman
recognized the special needs of couples marrying with
children - children either from previous relationships or
children of the bride and groom born prior to their
marriage. In 1987, he developed the Family Medallion® as
a resource for incorporating children into the wedding
service to recognize that - with children present,
marriage is more than the coming together of two people -
it is the proclaiming of a new family. Family Medallion®
presentations are now included in over 15,000 weddings
annually. The Family Medallion® is used on other occasions
including adoption ceremonies, baptisms/blessings of
children and acknowledging family commitments when parents
renew their marriage vows. Our Staff
Dr. Coleman is president of Clergy Services, Inc. In
addition, he serves on the staff of two congregations in
Kansas City, Missouri - Community Christian Church and
Pilgrim Chapel. He holds graduate degrees from Texas
Christian University, the University of Missouri and St.
Paul School of Theology. You may contact him directly by

the Sales Manager and is also responsible for developing
